WELCOME TO FORTH EMC SERVICES LTD

WE HELP CUSTOMERS PASS EMC TESTING QUICKLY, EFFICIENTLY AND ECONOMICALLY.

FORTH EMC SERVICES LTD ARE FROM AN ELECTRONICS PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT BACKGROUND WITH EXTENSIVE PCB DESIGN EXPERIENCE ACROSS A RANGE OF INDUSTRIES.

Affordable EMC Compliance Starts Here ...

EMC Test Overview

CE marking requires products to be tested against a high level Product Standard.

Some common examples include:

IEC/EN 61000-6-1 Residential, commercial & light industrial etc

      IEC/EN 61000-6-2 Industrial generic

      EN 55014 Household appliances etc

      EN 55020 Broadcast receivers etc

      EN 55024 Information technology equipment

EN 55015 Electrical lighting and similar equipment

These high level standards typically call a similar set of common test standards but with varying test parameters such as voltages, frequencies and pass fail limits.

We can perform testing at many of these limits including some not listed

       – contact us to discuss your specific requirements.

Radiated Emissions

Fully Anechoic Chamber with MIL-STD Shielding

Anechoic chamber is fully lined with RF absorbing Ferrite Tiles and complimented with matched hybrid absorber.
At over 7m long externally the required internal measurement distance of 3m from EUT to antenna is easily achieved whilst maintaining regulation clearances from the absorber.
Independent 3rd Party calibration data is available for customer inspection.

Conducted Emissions

CISPR22/EN 55022

Measures RF Emissions via cables from the EUT

Conducted RF Immunity

EN61000-4-6

Submits EUT to conducted RF disturbances via coupling onto EUT cables

ESD_1.JPG

Electrostatic Discharge (ESD)

EN61000-4-2

ESD testing is performed using an ESD test gun in the Dedicated Ground plane area with regulation height test bench and standard horizontal and vertical coupling planes.

Air-discharge: 200 V to 16.5 kV (in 100 V steps)
Contact-discharge: 200 V to 9 kV (in 100 V steps)

EFT_1.JPG

Burst/Fast Transient

EN61000-4-4

Couples High voltages bursts onto data and power lines.  Typical standards are 2.0KV limits however we can test up to 4.8KV

Surge_2.JPG

Surge

EN61000-4-5

Simulates induced fields from lightening strikes.

Dips_1.JPG

Voltage Dips & Interruptions

EN61000-4-11

Simulates supply voltage dips and interruptions for durations and levels specified in the standards

We strive to offer a flexible, friendly service.  If your product is failing EMC we will offer our experience.  If your prototype suffers an operating failure on the day our extensive range of debug and repair tools (both electrionic and mechanical) are at your disposal to get you quickly back up and running.  Our aim has been to create a lab suitable for engineers to make On-the spot changes thus minimising time to compliance.

Lab Overview

Debug & Rework Area

We know how precious your lab  test time is and the frustrations of  having prototype equipment failures cutting short EMC testing.  Hence we have a well equipped debug and re-work area with all the tools and equipment you'd expect to find in an electronics development lab - oscilloscopes, bench power supplies, soldering gear, microscope/magnifiers and hand tools.

EMC Trouble Shooting

To help make maximum use of your test time our lab is kitted out with various RF debug tools for customer use such as spectrum analyser and sniffer probes to track down problems.  Being a Wurth supported Lab we also have fully stocked racks of Wurth EMC components such as cable ferrites, EMC shielding gaskets etc that can be tried on the spot should your product be experiencing problems.
